Moving from NYC to North Jersey

More space, a yard, a driveway — and still a reasonable trip into Manhattan. That's why so many New Yorkers look at North Jersey. I help NYC buyers compare towns, commutes, and costs so the move makes sense before you make an offer.

Getting into the city

  • NJ Transit trains — direct service to Penn Station from many towns, or to Hoboken with connections.
  • PATH — from Newark, Harrison, Jersey City, and Hoboken into Manhattan.
  • Buses — commuter lines to Port Authority from across Bergen and Passaic counties.
  • Ferries — from the Hudson waterfront to Manhattan.

Commute times depend on the exact street, so we'll map the real door-to-door trip to your office before you commit.

How buying in NJ is different

  • Attorney review — after both sides sign, there's a 3-business-day window for attorneys to review or cancel. Learn how it works.
  • Property taxes — New Jersey's are high and vary widely by town. We'll check the tax bill on every home before you offer.
  • Two big MLS systems — North Jersey listings are split between GSMLS and NJMLS. I have access to both, so you see everything.
  • Schools — each town typically has its own school district.

Where I work

Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Hudson, Morris, and Union counties. If you're coming from a Polish neighborhood in Brooklyn or Queens, I can also show you North Jersey towns with strong Polish communities — like Garfield, Wallington, Clifton, Harrison, and Linden. Po polsku →
